For a year or so, I used an app called '1 second a day' on my phone to record a one second video of any moment of every day. That year happened to be one of the most eventful and perhaps the best year(at least so I thought then) of my life: I traveled four continents and seven countries, made many new friends and went on countless adventures.
After returning to college from studying abroad in Europe, I felt a sudden drop from a high pace to routine, from excitement to predictability. So I stopped recording, thinking there would be nothing to record--until 'ritual' was brought up as a class project. For seven days, I recorded a random moment of the day, and drew something on a piece of a paper, aiming to contrast the predictability of daily life and creativity of artistic expressions.
This is what came out of it.
